You read that right. I need a labor and delivery or charge nurse to help me edit something with nursey content, and wondered if any of my lovely readers here fit the bill.
The heroine of my fourth book is a nurse, and while I hope I got details of her job, hospital setting, and that sort of thing right, I want to be sure before I submit it to a publisher.
So, if you happen to be a nurse and are willing to read a 70,000 word (22 chapter) book for me in the next week or two, please comment below and I’ll get in touch with you. Thank you in advance!!
In my quest for a title for my fourth book (Damn you, elusive book title!!!), I searched for random book title generators, thinking, “How bad could they be?”
I laughed so hard, I cried. Then I called my friend, read them to him, and cried some more. Don’t believe me? The one I just got (and my new personal favorite) is:
The Horny Vampire’s Illegal Secretions.
Do you believe me now? What’s that? You’re STILL skeptical? Go here: http://sweary.com/romance-novel-title-generator/
You won’t regret it.
I just wanted to let you all know there’s a new way to send me a private message. I posted a contact form on my sidebar. So, if you want to share a story idea with me, or just chat in general without everyone else seeing it, that’s the way to do it! I haven’t tried it out yet, so I hope it doesn’t suck. *,..,*
Meridiean has just brought it to my attention that I’ve been nominated for three SVM awards along with MANY other amazing writers.
Sookie’s Present and Glamoured have both been nominated for Mr. January Award-Best Lemon.
Sookie’s Present has been nominated for The Charlaine Harris Award-Best Rewrite of SVM.
If you’re feeling like voting, go check it out! I’m just warning you now, you’re going to have a REALLY hard time choosing.

This one is perhaps my favorite. Anyone have any ideas how I can turn this into a short story? I think it needs a tribute of some kind…
I’m reaching out to you to ask what you would do if you were me.
I have been posting Sookie’s Present on FF.net, and I have an unhappy and vocal reader. One of the problems with FF is that readers can post anonymous (Guest) reviews, which means I can’t respond if there are issues/comments that need to be addressed. (This is one of the many reasons why I love wordpress so much!)
For Chapter 6, Guest wrote: UGH! I was hoping this Sookie would be smarter and NOT take any of that disgusting Bill’s blood but she’s still the naive idiot from the books. If Sookie has sex with Bill in the upcoming chapter I will NOT continue reading this story. It’s bad enough that Sookie has Bill’s blood.
I tried to reassure Guest in an author note at the beginning of Chapter 7, saying, “For those of you who are worried about Bill being involved in this story (and Bill getting his grimy hands all over Sookie), I can assure you now that I don’t write Sookie/Bill FF. If you’ve read my other stories, you already know that.”
For Chapter 7, Guest (I’m assuming it’s the same person) wrote: Bill is obviously NOT losing his hold on Sookie since you made Sookie have his blood. I’m bitter over it, can’t you tell?
So my note didn’t work … now what? I tried really hard to explain the premise of this story from the get go. Do I waste my time explaining that my Sookie is smart enough to be wary of Bill, or that she didn’t have a choice in taking Bill’s blood (since he forced her to drink it after nearly getting killed, just like in the book), or that I hate Bill’s guts and the only reason he’s in this story is because I needed someone to motivate Eric to be his most alpha-male self?
I know I can’t please everyone, but I REALLY want to. Why is this bothering me so much? *sigh*
Have you all seen the Free Your Mind video? I like it with and without the sound on. 🙂
