Chapter 9

Sookie’s POV

The room went silent and then Sookie plastered a tight smile on her face, stood, and said, “Would ya’ll excuse us for a minute?” She looped her arm through Eric’s and tugged him down the hall toward his office. A low growl emanated from his chest. It took every ounce of her strength to get him away from the bar full of people. Once they had taken a few steps, conversations resumed and she could hear Beth’s laughter.

“What’s gotten into you?” she chided when they were alone in his office. “Put those away.” She pointed to his fangs.

He locked the door and turned to face her. “You’re mine. That man—” he shouted.

“Shh. They’ll hear us!” She put her finger to his lips, silencing him. “I happened to be threatening that sweet-talker with bodily harm if he hurt my friend.” She lifted her eyebrows waiting for the information to settle in.

“He was hitting on you!”

She shrugged. “Maybe he was, but there’s no harm in that. I told him flat out that I have a boyfriend and that Beth is in a fragile state of mind, and that if he hurt her, I’d hunt him down and make him wish he’d never been born,” she finished sweetly. “I should probably get back out there before she does something stupid.”

“Or you could let me deal with him.”

“You need to get it through your thick skull that I can take care of myself.” She sighed. “Maybe not around you, but definitely with a guy like that.”

“You’re mine!” he insisted.

“I know I’m yours.”

Eric’s shoulders relaxed ever so slightly. “Say it again.”

“What? The part about your thick skull?” She smiled.

“No, the part where you say you’re mine.” His intensity shifted. Bristling with anger in one second and oozing desire the next.

She stood on her tiptoes and with her mouth inches away from his, she said, “I’m yours.”

He kissed her then, a whirlwind of teeth, lips, and tongue. When she pulled away to breathe, he asked, “Why didn’t you come to see me?”

She wrapped her arms around his neck and shrugged. “It seemed like you were busy and didn’t need a distraction.”

“I always need a distraction if it means getting to see you.”

She grinned. “I’ll keep that in mind.” She rubbed her breasts against his chest. “I’ve missed you.”

He answered her with a growl and his hands gripping her ass so he could hold her firmly against him.

“Have you missed me too?” She brushed her lips against his.

“Yes.” The word seemed forced from somewhere deep inside him.

“Show me,” she whispered.

Eric lifted her off the ground and placed her on the edge of his desk. He thrust his tongue in her mouth and blindly unbuttoned her shirt, leaving it hanging from her shoulders. Next came her jeans and panties. She had to stand for a moment while he peeled them off her, and then he focused on his. Too impatient to undress fully, Eric pushed his jeans down just enough to expose his sublime ass and massive dick. He sucked a finger into his mouth and then pushed it between her slippery lips, nudging against her opening. He rubbed her clit in small circles before dipping inside her. “So wet.”

She gripped his cock and rubbed her thumb over the head, collecting the tiny amount of cum and coating his length with it. She matched his rhythm; each time his finger pushed inside her she twisted her hand all the way to the base. Slowly at first, and then gaining speed until her breath became ragged and then her hand froze, gripping him tightly. Her orgasm exploded through her body and Eric kissed her, swallowing the sounds of her pleasure. After a moment, she gasped for breath as he straightened his back and pulled his finger out of her, sucking it clean. She smiled and reclined on his desk. Papers dug into her back. “I want you,” she said, locking her feet around his ass, drawing him closer.

Gripping the base of his cock, Eric rubbed against her quivering flesh. She sighed, waiting for the satisfying feeling of being filled by him, but it didn’t come. Rub. Tease. Touch. Her feet scrambled against his body, helplessly willing him to fuck her, but she might as well have been pulling on a statue.

Please!” she begged.

A smile spread across Eric’s face. “Tell me.”

“You’re thick-headed.” She scowled at him, intent on winning the game.

He aligned their bodies, but didn’t push inside. He spiraled his hips, nudging her lips apart and bumping against her clit with the velvety head of his cock. “Tell me,” he said again.

She gripped the edge of his desk and gritted her teeth. “You like distractions at work.”

“So stubborn,” he said while he rubbed against her clit. Their cum mingled together, making her swollen flesh more slick than before. “Tell. Me.”

She couldn’t stand it anymore. “I’m yours,” she said, finally giving him what he wanted so he would give her what she wanted.

“Mine,” he said, and then he pushed inside. They let out a collective moan and Sookie arched her back, wanting him to go deeper. Harder. He squeezed her breasts through her bra while he pulled out, and then he slammed back into her. His pelvis crushed her clit and she gasped. Her eyes locked on his.

His smile grew when he discovered what she wanted. What she needed. And that’s exactly what he gave her. Hard and fast. Stealing her breath with each thrust, the muscles in her arms strained as she held onto the desk. Each time he thrust into her, he set her nerves on fire, bumping against her clit and driving her wild.

Another orgasm came from deep inside her body, jolted out of her by sheer force. Her moan turned into a scream so Eric clamped his hand over her mouth. She bit down, hard, and his blood spilled into her mouth. He roared and slammed into her one final time and then came. Sookie swallowed and closed her eyes. Pure, unadulterated lust filled her, erasing the rest of her inhibitions. His hand healed almost immediately, so she licked it clean before he could pull it away.

She lifted her head and looked at him while she licked her lips.

“I’ve never seen anything so sexy in all my life,” he whispered, almost as if he struggled to speak them.

“Again,” she demanded.

He gripped her hips and started slamming into her again, bringing them both to the precipice one more time. “Better?” he asked.

“No,” she admitted. “Your blood made me hungry … no … starving for more.”

“Now you know how I feel,” he replied with a smirk.

She wiggled against his body, his cock rubbing inside her. “Are you ever satisfied?”

“With you, there’s never enough.”

Surprised at her own strength, she pushed off the desk and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Again.”

Eric cupped her ass and thrust into her while she held on for dear life and rode him to another release. She was breathing hard when she kissed him.

She grunted with frustration. “I should probably get back to Beth,” she whined.

“Or we could stay here and fuck all night,” he suggested with a swirl of his hips.

“I can’t leave her alone with that guy.” She closed her eyes and focused on the thoughts spilling down the hall. Everything seemed more clear and concise than before. She could single out each individual thought. The ones coming from Mr. Smooth weren’t good. She sighed. “He’s trying to get her to leave with him.”

“You can hear them all the way from in here?” His eyes widened.

She nodded and sighed. “I need to stop him.”

“What about me?” he pouted.

“I’ll be back for more, you can bet on that.” She pushed off his legs and slid down his body. She fought every urge in her being and got dressed. Leaving him was the hardest thing she’d ever done. She sighed and kissed him one more time before heading to the door.

Plastering a fake smile on her face, she joined Beth and Mr. Smooth, who had taken her seat.

Interrupting him mid-sentence, Beth looked up at her with wide eyes. “What happened to you?”

“What?” Sookie shrugged and tried to maintain the smile.

“Your shirt…” Beth looked past her, tracking the movements of Eric, who had come down the hall shortly after Sookie. “No way!”

Sookie glanced down at her shirt and noticed she’d skipped one of the buttons. Heat spread across her cheeks. “I need to fix this, I’ll um… I’ll be right back.” She bolted for the ladies’ room with Beth hot on her heels.

When the door swung shut behind them Beth said, “Spill.” She covered her mouth. “You and the Viking!”

A genuine smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as she unbuttoned and re-buttoned her shirt.

“How long?”

“Remember the first night we came here?” Sookie waited for Beth to nod and then went on, “And how we came back the next night to pick up your car? Well, I talked to him, and then I saw him the next week and I couldn’t keep my hands off of him.”

Beth shook her head and her eyes glazed over. “I bet.” She blushed. “So you two just…” She looked at her hands.

“Yeah, he thought I was flirting with Mr. Sweet-talker out there, so I had to calm him down a little.”

“Mr. Sweet-talker?” she frowned.

“Yeah. The guy trying to get in your pants.” There was no way in hell she was going to share what the guy was really thinking.

“He is? How could you tell?”

“Um,” Sookie said as she tried to think of how to be gentle and blunt at the same time without revealing her little talent. “You can tell by his body language. I saw it a ton at the bar I used to work at. Guys like that are trouble. My brother is like that.” As much as she hated to admit it, Jason had always been a troublemaker. “You deserve better.”

Beth grinned and then looked at her hands again. “Thanks. You’re a good friend.”

“And wingman,” Sookie added. “One of the other guys in the group seems okay. Why don’t we go out there and talk to them a bit more?”

“Your Viking won’t get jealous?”

Sookie shrugged. “Maybe, but a little jealousy is good for him.” Definitely good for sex, too. She grinned. “Come on!”

Beth followed Sookie out of the bathroom and after picking up on the conversation at the neighboring table, the group of men scooted the tables a little closer together so they could introduce themselves. Mr. Smooth turned out to be Jeff, and his friends Derrick, Paul, and Ben played second fiddle whenever they went out together. Sookie paid close attention to Derrick and nudged Beth so she would too.

“So, Derrick, what do you do?” Sookie asked.

“I’m studying philosophy at Northwestern.”

“Loser!” Jeff shouted, hitting Derrick and making his shoulders fall.

I think it’s interesting,” Sookie said, glaring at Jeff.

“Me too,” Beth added, smiling a shy smile.

With the wind knocked out of his sails, it took a while for Jeff to recover, giving Derrick the chance to get in a little one-on-one with Beth.

Sookie continued the conversation for long enough to satisfy the questions the other men had for the pair of women, as they feigned interest in them being Sunny Maids, but stopped short when Jeff put his hand on top of her thigh. She reached between them and squeezed his hand with her newfound strength, and began rubbing the bones together as she removed it.

Jeff drew in a long, painful breath.

She whispered, “Now Jeff, I already told you I have a boyfriend. And wouldn’t you know it, it’s that six foot four wall of muscle right over there. The one watching us.” She glanced up at Eric and flashed him a brilliant smile. “If you know what’s good for you, you’ll keep your hands to yourself from now on.”

He gritted his teeth and laughed a little too loud, interrupting the conversation at the large table. “I don’t know about you, but I’m beat. I’ve got practice early in the morning.”

They murmured their agreement and after slamming back the last of the beer, they dropped a tip on the table and got up to leave. Everyone but Derrick and Beth.

“Can I walk you to your car?” Derrick asked.

Beth grinned from ear to ear. “Yeah. That’d be nice.”

His friends scoffed and went outside first. Derrick and Beth walked side-by-side awkwardly, and before they went outside, Beth gave Sookie a thumbs up.

Sookie smiled and returned the gesture before heading over to the bar where Eric waited.

The new woman Eric had hired wiped down their table and glared at her. Bitch. She doesn’t deserve—.

Sookie blocked the rest of the angry thoughts spilling out of her bleach-blonde head. It hadn’t been the first time someone had silently assaulted her, but it was the first time she’d been able to block it. She smiled at Eric and said, “I need to talk to you about something.”

“Shall we go to my office?” he asked, lifting one eyebrow.

Pam rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath.

“If you’ll excuse us, Sookie has something she’d like to discuss with me. You can keep your comments to yourself, Pam,” he added.

The second they were down the hall, out of sight from everyone else, Eric’s hands spread out across Sookie’s ass. She squeaked and scampered faster than ever into his office, with him a step behind. He locked the door again and started kissing and sucking on every available inch of her skin, pushing her against the side of his desk.

Flushed and panting, she pulled away, pushing on his chest with both palms. “I really did have to talk to you about something.”

Eric pouted but raised his eyebrows expectantly, waiting for her to go on.

“You know how I, um, bit you earlier?”

He gave her a hungry look and nodded.

“Ever since then, I’ve been able to focus my telepathy better, and even switch it off!” She smiled, still amazed. “I’m also crazy strong! Does vampire blood give humans super powers or something?”

“It enhances everything. Your vision, hearing, strength, hunger, desire,” he said, running a finger from the middle of her chest, down between her breasts and then caressing the fly of her jeans.

“And telepathy…” She closed her eyes and let the lust wash over her. “How long does it last?”

Eric shrugged, his eyes focused on his fingers, which were undressing her.

“Does it change anything for you?” she asked, stilling his movements momentarily while he considered his reply.

“I’ll be able to feel you, know when you’re scared, happy, sad, and excited.” He pushed his hand inside her pants, rubbing his fingertips against her damp panties. “It’s faint, but there.” He took his T-shirt off.

Sookie ran her fingers across the broad plane of his chest and leaned close and whispered, “What happens if I bite you again?” She nibbled on his skin and shook her head playfully.

Eric groaned. “It gets stronger. The third time, you’ll be able to feel me too, no matter how far apart we are. We would be connected. Bonded.”

She licked around his nipple and then sucked it into her mouth, scraping it with her teeth. “You seem to like being bitten.”

“I do,” he said with a hoarse voice.

“I liked it too,” she whispered as she unbuttoned his jeans and pushed them off, his powerful cock jutting up from between his muscular thighs. “I’ve never felt more powerful or more sexy.” She pushed him behind his desk so the back of his legs bumped against his chair.

His nimble fingers removed her shirt quickly. Her bra followed. He kneeled in front of her, his feet bumping against the chair as he pushed her jeans around her ankles. Eyelevel with her nipples, he sighed and filled his hands with her breasts, kissing and licking them. Scraping his fangs against her skin gently, like she had done to him.

She shuddered and stepped toward him, out of the pile of her clothes. “What can you feel from me?” she asked between gasps.

“Your need.” He squeezed her breasts and sucked on her nipples hard, turning them a deep shade of pink.

“Yes.”

“You need me,” he whispered against her skin. “You need me to kiss you.”

“Yes,” she said again. Desire clouded her vision, so she had trouble following his quick movements as he sat in his chair. He pulled her onto his lap where she tucked her feet on either side of him and positioned herself on top of his dick.

“You need me to please you,” he said, moving his cock back and forth, rubbing it against her slit and dipping ever so slightly inside.

“Yes.”

“You need me to fuck you,” he said, lifting his hips to thrust inside her, all at once, hilt-deep.

Her reply stuck in her throat and finally came out as a moan as she came in tiny tremors. She kissed him, feeding her cries to him, which only encouraged his frantic movements. She held on to his neck and bounced up and down on his lap, her thighs slapping against his, her pleasure building again. “I need you to bite me,” she breathed into his mouth.

Eric growled and positioned his mouth against her neck and whispered, “Yes,” before he sank his fangs into her flesh.

She muffled her scream against his shoulder and they came together.

That was how their first exchange happened.

    • Aww, thanks! I got to the airport and have time to kill, so after I reply to reviews, I’ll get to writing! It’s definitely Eric. He’s the one causing all the problems. I hope you have a great weekend! 🙂 Thanks for reviewing (first even!)!

Well, she set him straight about being able to take care of herself..and then she let him take care of her. The best combo! I love that his blood makes her hungry for sex. And that’s how he feels all the time. Glad Beth left with Derrick. The other one was a jerk.
Sorry to hear about your aunt. 😦

    • LOL Thank you so much for your lovely review! Thanks also for the love for my aunt. I’m sad to be there for that reason, you know?

Sookie and Eric know how to take care of each other very well…and this is just the beginning! Beth deserves better than some douche who’s just trying to sleep with her. I’m all about finding the right guy…

I was wrong with my hunch that it was Jason or Hoyt but I think this will definitely work out for the better. It looks like Beth may have found someone.

I’m happy that they talked about what Eric’s blood can do and about exchanging. 😀 It’s much better this way.

    • You had excellent guesses!!! I was considering changing the story because of what you said, but I didn’t want the douche to be someone she knew. Beth is in good hands as long as Sookie is her wingman (woman?). I always thought that Sookie deserved to know the repercussions of exchanging blood, and I don’t think Eric would be sneaky about it either. Plus, it’s so hot when it’s mutual! Thanks so much for reviewing! 🙂

True. Halved grief is better than whole. The only thing that separated us was the difference of who we knew. She wasn’t the same person to everyone, so we all mourned her in our own ways. But together made it better. 🙂

Better than sleeping in your own bed with your own pillow is having your cat (who missed you so terribly) snuggle all night long. If I could just travel with him, I think I’d be happy no matter where I was. 🙂 When my husband and I visited Paris ten years ago, the hotel had a cat, Pusette, that roamed the halls and greeted all the visitors. • LOL I’m dying laughing over here. Seriously. I’m struggling to type. I hope you got him good, and I also hope he’s somewhere handy on Friday. You’re going to need him again. I’m glad I’m somebody’s favorite. That makes me happy.

*passes out cigarettes and ice cubes to everyone* Loved it! Who knew Sookie would turn into a little nympho with a bit of Eric’s blood! And now the worst part, the long wait until next Friday!

    • Yes, I know! The wait until Friday is SO long (except for me, where I’m trying to frantically get some writing done in the 20 minutes of free time I seem to have these days!). I’m so glad you took care of everyone with the cigarettes and ice cubes. You’re very kind. 🙂 I’m so glad you loved it. Thanks for reviewing and telling me so!

    Sorry about your Aunt.
Loved this chapter. Sookie is really taking her new strength and ability to control her telepathy in her stride. She’s not freaking out about it like I would expect a normal Sookie story to do. Thank you for making your a Sookie more composed. At the end there, did Sookie bite him at the same time when Eric bit her. That would be an exchange. I just wanted to make sure. Can’t wait for more.

    • Thanks for your compassion for my aunt. It’s been a hard time.

You are so welcome for a rational, likeable Sookie. Who needs panicky and annoying Sookie? Not me. 🙂 In the canon, CH wrote plenty of exchanges that happened not simultaneously, but close enough to count. So yes, they exchanged, and Sookie knows all about what she’s getting herself into (well, as much as a human can…). Thanks so much for reviewing!
