Charlaine Harris owns almost everything. I own the rest.
FairytaleAmber, thank you so much for your feedback! All remaining mistakes are my own! There’s only one chapter left, but don’t worry, I’ve got another story brewing!
Happy Halloween! To keep in the spirit of things, I want you to imagine Sookie wearing a huge witch hat for this entire chapter. It’s the best Halloween-themed writing you’re going to get from me. Sorry, I’m totally lame. 🙂

“I hadn’t even thought of that.” Sookie frowned.
Eric ran his thumb across her forehead, smoothing it out. “You don’t need to worry about him. That’s what I’m here for.”
“How are you going to get home? I assume you don’t want Bill to know Eric is with you, right?” Pam asked.
“But your car is at your house still.”
“I hadn’t thought of that either.”
Pam snorted. “Not much of a plan is it?”
“I planned to fly us to her house,” Eric said, silencing Pam.
She clicked her tongue. “Can I drive you instead? Please? I want to see the look on Bill’s face when you get him. You won’t even notice I’m there.”
“No. I want him to think she’s alone. No cars.” Eric shook his head. “Besides, you need to be here, since I can’t be.”
“Fine.” She crossed her arms over her chest. “Be that way.”
* * * *
Eric landed in the heavily wooded area behind her house while Sookie searched for anyone else. “The coast is clear,” she said.
With that, they made their way to the back door and let themselves in. “Now what?” Sookie asked in a whisper.
“Now we wait.”
With Eric out of sight, Sookie went through her regular evening routine. She showered, made dinner, did dishes, started a load of laundry, and watched T.V. in her nightgown. She glared at the uncovered front room window and skulked into the spare bedroom where Eric stretched out on the bed. “I want you to be with me.”
“It must appear that you are home alone. No one else knows you’re here, so it’ll be perfect.”
“I can close the blinds in the front room in case anyone comes snooping. I do that all the time. Come on. What’s the point in having vacation time if I don’t even enjoy it? Watch a movie with me,” she begged. He finally relented, but only after she covered the window.
“What are we going to watch?” Eric asked as he sat on the couch.
Sookie sorted through the pile of DVDs on her shelf until she found the right one: Gone With The Wind.
She snuggled up against him on the couch and cried at all the sad parts. At the end she sighed. “See? We’re like Rhett and Scarlet.”
Eric frowned. “I don’t recall fighting with you, especially about your drinking problem.”
Sookie waved her hand to dismiss him. “Shush. You know what I mean.” She changed the T.V. to whatever infomercial was on at four in the morning.
“Also, you’re not alone in an old southern mansion, because I do give a damn.” He kissed her hand.
“No. Not alone.” She nuzzled into his chest and caressed the bulge in his jeans. “Do you think Bill is going to show up tonight?”
“I hope not,” Eric murmured as he pulled Sookie into his lap. “We must be quiet, just in case.” He kissed his way across her collarbone and up her neck, sucking at the pulsing flesh while his fingers dug into her hips, pulling her firmly against his dick.
Her head lolled back and she trapped a moan in her mouth. “It’s not going to be easy if you keep doing that.” She pawed at his shirt until he finally took it off. His broad chest was almost enough to distract her from the rest of his body.
And then he rolled his hips, bucking up into her, making her gasp. “What this?” He did it again.
“Yes.” The word drifted out of her mouth as he pulled her nightgown off. She smirked. She had intentionally forgone panties and a bra with Eric in mind.
Eric choked as he took in every inch of her naked body. “As much as I love undressing you, I enjoy you naked much more,” he whispered and then he devoured her breasts.
She kept her mouth shut, despite the need to scream, only amplifying her pleasure. Without being able to release it verbally, it seemed to build. When he pushed a finger inside her, she bit her lip to remain silent. She hissed as blood came to the surface, but then he kissed her.
Eric moaned and sucked on her bleeding lip as he finger fucked her faster and faster until she came, her entire body trembling in his lap. He unbuttoned his jeans and only when he had his cock in his hand, did he pull the finger out of her pussy. He coated his length with her cum and then rubbed the head against her quivering lips. “Quiet,” he said.
She nodded and sank down, taking him in slowly. She held her breath, and only released it when her head began to swim. Her fingernails cut into his shoulders, spurring him on.
Eric thrust into her slowly at first, wiggling out of his jeans a little more with each lift of his hips until he finally had the freedom of movement he needed to gain momentum. Their bodies collided while their tongues tangled, pushing and pulling against each other. He wrapped his long arms around her, cradling her against his chest.
She opened her eyes. Everything slowed down and became clear. His soft lips on hers, his impatient tongue in her mouth, his fingers running up and down her ribs, his powerful legs supporting her, and his raw emotions encompassing her. She had never felt so cherished. Everything he did, he did for her. What is it? Is it love? She pulled her mouth away from him and waited for him to open his eyes. When he did, her heart clenched. There it is. Tears filled her eyes.
“Sookie?” he murmured, stilling his movements.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him, letting her tears spill down her cheeks. “I love you.”
He grunted and thrust into her again. “I love you, too.”
Everything changed in that moment. And then she came, moaning into his mouth to muffle the sounds, and holding onto him so she wouldn’t float away.
“I love you, I love you, I love you,” he said, punctuating each declaration of love with a powerful thrust. He trailed kisses along her jaw and down her neck, hovering over her pulsing vein.
At a loss for words, she brought his mouth to her skin, encouraging him to bite. Another orgasmic wave washed over her as his fangs slid into her flesh and his cock swelled inside her.
They held each other for what seemed like hours. Eventually, Eric stood, carrying Sookie’s drowsy body to her bed. He kissed her and whispered, “I’ll be in the next room.”
“Is it almost morning?” she asked.
He nodded. “See you tonight.”
“Tonight.” She grinned and closed her eyes again.
When she dreamed, she dreamed of him. Holding her, loving her. The warmth of his love spread to every cell in her body. That night, she woke with a light heart and a smile on her face.
The sun hung low in the evening sky, illuminating her kitchen as she ate dinner. Once the dishes were done, she turned on the radio in her bedroom, stepped into the shower, and started singing.
“All you need is love…” She dunked her head under the stream of running water and gasped when Eric came up behind her, pulling her wet body against his.
“Do de do de do,” he sang.
“Good evening.” She wiped her eyes and then turned in his arms to kiss him. Nothing felt as good as being held by him.
They took their time, washing and cleaning each other. After he toweled her off, he sprawled across her bed. She brushed her hair and watched him in the mirror. The soft light from her bedside table made his skin glow like honey. She had the urge to taste him, to see if he was as good as he looked.
The phone rang. She turned toward the door, weighing her options. I can either stay here and taste a Viking, or I can talk to someone on the phone. She grinned when it stopped ringing. She sauntered over to the end of the bed intent on making option one a reality, when the phone rang again. Her shoulders fell. “It might be important.”
“It might not be,” he whispered.
She slipped her robe over her shoulders and tied the belt. She held her finger up. “Hold that thought.”
The hardwood floor creaked under her feet as she pranced to answer the phone. “Hel—” The line went dead as soon as she picked up. “Stupid telemarketers!” she said into the silent phone.
Despite the fact that she ate dinner within the last hour, hunger tugged at her stomach. She stuck her head in the fridge and rummaged around until she found a peach. She sang along to the faint sounds coming from the radio in her room. “I’ve got sunshine…on a cloudy day.”
The peach hit the ground as Bill said, “Hello, Sookie.”
