Chapter 5

“Sookie?” Eric whispered.

“Hmm?” Sookie rolled over, bumping into him. She sat straight up, trying to see in the dimly lit room. “Why are you awake?” She focused her eyes on the clock next to her. “Is that am or pm?”

Eric chuckled. “Pm.”

She stretched and then excused herself to use the bathroom. She used the toilet, splashed water on her face, and scrubbed her teeth with her finger. When she returned to the room, Eric had turned the light on. “There. I feel better. Where’s Pam?”

“Getting some dinner. How did it go this morning? With Jake?”

Sookie struggled to focus on what he was saying, since he wasn’t wearing a shirt. “It was very peaceful. He wanted to go. He said he was sorry.”

“You were very kind to offer to stay with him.”

Sookie didn’t know how to reply, so she sat down next to him. “What a crazy night. I can’t believe we got all the bombs. The Fellowship is going to be mighty disappointed in the morning.”

“The Queen is already meeting with everyone. All the kings and queens know.”

Sookie smiled. “I’m sure they all know who to thank, right?”

“She gave you credit. Of course, the honors are shared by her since you are part of our group now.” Eric touched the side of her neck where he’d bitten her the previous night, which seemed like a lifetime ago.

How could so much stuff happen in one night? Her fight with Quinn, finding Eric waiting at her door, their reunion including exchanging blood with him, finding bombs, interrogating people, and finally watching Jake meet the sun. As if a light bulb went off she turned her face toward his. “Oh, I wanted to ask you. This morning, when I gave you your knife back, why did everyone look at me like I was a weirdo?”

Eric’s eyes shifted away. “It was an unexpected act.”

“Returning your belongings?” She frowned.

“It’s not mine. It’s a ceremonial wedding knife.” His eyes met hers. “And you gave it to me. In the presence of witnesses.”

His words jumbled around in her brain. Wedding. Witnesses. Ceremony. “Wait. What?”

“In the vampire world, you married me last night.” He gave her a crooked smile.

“I did?” Breathe, Sookie. Breathe.

He nodded and his smile fell. “Does this news displease you?”

Her mind raced. “I’m married to you?”

He nodded again.

“Well that’s a surprise.” She exhaled slowly. “I always imagined I would get married at the little church in Bon Temps, surrounded by my friends and family. Not teenager vampires and a bodyguard.” She took his hands in hers. “Is this for real?”

“It is if you want it to be.” His face remained blank and impossible to read.

“Do you want it to be?” She held her breath.

He didn’t hesitate when he answered. “Yes. You?”

Sookie took a deep breath. “Yes. I do!” The ease of her answer surprised her. “Can we have a human ceremony though?”

“Anything you want, Mrs. Northman.” He cradled her face and kissed her sweetly.

“I like the sound of that. So I guess this is our honeymoon?” She looked around the room.

Eric laughed. “No. I’m going to take you somewhere you won’t forget. France? Germany? Sweden?”

“I’ve never been out of the country. Hell, I’ve only left home a few times in my life.”

“All three then. It’s decided.” Eric smiled and touched her cheek. “The Queen’s trial is in two hours. We need to be there.”

Sookie’s stomach grumbled. “I need to eat. There’s a restaurant downstairs.”

“And room service.” He touched the phone. “What shall I order for you?”

“Pancakes, eggs over medium, and a bowl of fruit. Breakfast is good no matter when you eat it.”

Eric ordered for her and then hung up the phone. “It will be delivered in ten minutes.”

“I can think of a way to make the time pass. Get undressed,” Sookie said as she started unbuttoning her blouse. Eric stood and unbuttoned his pants, letting them drop to the floor. Her mouth hung open as she took in the sight of his magnificent naked body. She stopped undressing and tugged him between her legs, his cock jutting toward her. She gripped the base of his dick and kissed the head. “Do you remember this?”

Eric’s eyes closed and a strangled noise came out of his throat as she licked and sucked. She scraped his length with her teeth and bit him lightly, eliciting a moan. She sped up, and then slowed down, controlling the volume of his cries until, with one final swirl of her tongue, he came. His body still shuddered when someone knocked on the door.

“Room service,” the muffled voice called from the other side of the door.

“I’ll get it,” Sookie said as she kissed his quivering dick one last time. She sauntered to the door, but before she could open is, Eric pressed against her back.

“Here’s the tip.” He emphasized the last word by pressing his cock against her as he stuffed money in her hand.

“Thanks.” She rubbed against him and opened the door just as he stepped behind it.

The young man in the uniform standing outside the room smiled. “Room service?” His smile grew as he took in the sight of Sookie’s nearly exposed breasts.

She pressed a hand over her chest and said, “I’ll take it from here.” She handed him the money, pulled the cart into the room, and closed the door on his face.

Eric leaned against the wall, his creamy white skin blending into the soft beige decor.

Sookie pushed the cart toward the table in the room. She chuckled and gestured down to her chest where her bra peeked out. “I gave him a show.”

“I’m sure he was very grateful.” He stalked toward her. “I know I am.”

She smacked his chest lightly. “I need to eat.”

“Me too.” He kissed the side of her neck while his arms wrapped around her body.

“Are you going to call room service?” Sookie teased.

“Why order from a menu when I’ve got a perfectly delicious willing donor right here?” He nipped at her skin.

“How do you know I’m willing?” Sookie gripped his sublime ass.

“I can smell it.” He inhaled deeply and a tremor moved through his body.

“All I can smell is pancakes,” she said. “Breakfast, remember?”

“Mm, breakfast,” he mumbled against her skin.

“Hungry, remember?”

“Mm, hungry.”

“Human, remember?” Sookie laughed and pulled away from him, situating herself in front of the tray of steaming food.

Eric sulked as he sat, bare-ass naked, in the chair opposite her. “Go on then, enjoy your breakfast.”

“I will, thank you very much.” She smiled and then she ate, finishing with the bowl of mixed berries. “That was the best meal I’ve ever had in a hotel.” She licked her fingers, still covered with strawberry juice, and then wiped her mouth with a napkin. She piled everything back onto the cart, wheeled it out into the hall and then said, “Where was I?” She paused and then finished unbuttoning her blouse. “I believe I was here.” She dropped the shirt on the floor and stopped a few feet away from him while she unfastened her pants. She stepped out of them as she finished walking toward him.

“That’s not enough,” Eric said as he traced the edge of her panties.

“I was hoping you would be able to help me out of these.”

He nodded and pulled her closer, wrapping his fingers around her bra strap, unhooking it in one quick movement. With her breasts level with his face, he leaned forward and licked one nipple and then another. She arched her back, begging for more. He didn’t disappoint. Her entire body stood at attention as he kissed and sucked on every inch of her exposed flesh. His fingers kneaded the round globes of her ass, sending a flood of heat and moisture to her panties. When he finally started tugging them down, Sookie could hardly breathe.

Eric ran his fingers down her legs as he pushed her panties off, and then they moved back up, trailing the inside of her thighs. Sookie spread her legs, closed her eyes, and held onto his shoulders. His caress sent a jolt of pleasure that straightened her spine and set her nerves on fire. He sucked her breast back into his mouth as his finger pushed inside her, dragging a moan out of her throat. He moved slowly and she rocked her body gently each time he thrust inside her until she stood on the cusp of release, waiting for him to push her over … and then his thumb brushed against her clit. Sookie screamed as an orgasm claimed her, making her body quiver. She dug her fingernails into his shoulders as she rode his hand through each euphoric aftershock.

Eventually, her brain turned back on and she gave him a punch-drunk smile. “That was…” Her words died on her tongue as he pulled his finger out of her and promptly sucked it into his mouth.

Eric closed his eyes and moaned. “So fucking good.”

“Mm hm.” She gave him another smile and then he kissed her. She crawled onto his lap, crushing her breasts against his chest and positioning his cock against her slick lips. Another wave of pleasure washed over her as she tilted her hips back and forth, rubbing against him.

A tremor went through his legs as he thrust his tongue into her mouth. He pulled away slowly, his eyes still closed. “You taste like summer.”

She licked his fang, slicing her tongue open a tiny bit. She lifted off of him, holding her breath as she sank down a fraction of an inch on his dick. “What do I taste like now?” she breathed.

Eric’s eyes opened, wild and beautiful, and then his hands gripped her hips possessively, pulling her down slowly as he sucked on her bleeding tongue. “Heaven. If there is life after death, this is surely it.” And then he fucked her hard and fast.

Sookie gripped the back of the chair and propped her feet against the legs, meeting each thrust. Eric released his hold on her tongue and kissed the side of her neck roughly. His hunger came off him in waves.

“I’m close. Bite me,” she whispered into his ear.

Eric groaned and then opened his mouth. His fangs slid into her neck just as she came; her cry a mixture of pain and pleasure. He gulped loudly and came with her, his roar muffled by her blood and flesh.

They clung to each other, for what seemed like an hour, sated and slippery. Eric’s cheeks flushed pink when he kissed her again. “You are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Sookie smiled and said, “You took the words right out of my mouth.” And then she showed him again just how happy they could be together.

    • I’m so glad you think so! It always made me sad how CH left everything undone between Sookie and Eric and how she also flushed Quinn down the toilet without much explanation either. So lame. Thank you so much for reviewing!

I like this Sookie – she didn’t freak out bat-shit crazy. Instead, she paused and thought it over like an adult would, and decided that she LIKED what had happened even if it didn’t suit her childhood dreams. Great ending! Next?? #greedy

Great ending! Adore a Sookie with a brain –someone who doesn’t run away screaming, pout, or discount the importance of the bond/pledging as she callously did in the books. She treats the pledge and Eric with respect. Love that!

    • Thank you so much for that lovely review! I hate whiny, dumb Sookie! All I had to do was get rid of Quinn (CH had so many chances to dump him) so she could move on to bigger and better things. 😉 It was one of the story arcs I had the biggest problem with, so I’m glad you enjoyed the rewrite! Thanks again!

Reading your stories made me ask myself WHY and HOW possibly did I put myself through 13 highly unsatisfying books and 7 seasons of TV before ?? I know the answer of course : I guess we were all hoping and hoping and hoping again and again … till the bitter end that something good would happen ultimately to these great characters we so much enjoyed ?? So thank you to CH for creating them and thank you to HBO for finding the actors to play our beloved characters. BUT reading your stories fixing back one by one the broken pieces they left us with, the way they should have been at the first place, is kind of cathartic and therapeutic. So thank you for Rhodes and thank you for letting Sookie be smart for a change …and thank you for letting us enjoy a peak of her life the only possible way it should have been all along : with Eric by her side while eating breakfast !! Who cares what time it really is, right ??

    • LOL Thank you for making my day! That’s exactly why I kept watching and reading. I kept waiting for something good to happen to them. Hoping that the author/writers/producers would pull their heads out of their asses and give their readers/viewers what they all desperately needed. But nope. It wasn’t in the cards for us. I had to stop reading the books when I finished the 11th and Sookie was with Eric having ‘monkey sex’ that involved an ice pack on her crotch. Ew. Just no. The stories are rife with broken pieces which inspired me to write something to fix them. What started as a need for more Eric and Sookie sex has led me to a place where I’m more concerned about her HEA … and Eric’s too. I’m so glad you have been reading and loving my work here. It makes me happy to know I’ve giving you a little catharsis after the train wreck we’ve all been a part of. 🙂 And you’re right. I don’t care WHAT time of day it is, pancakes are always great. 🙂
